Abac to conduct exit polls July 3

Abac Poll of Assumption University will conduct exit polls in all 375 constituencies throughout the country on July 3, election day.
In Chiang Mai, the exit poll will be jointly conducted by Abac and Payap University.
Noppadol Kannikar, director of Abac Poll, said that in Chiang Mai, which has 10 constituencies, pollsters will be sent to 25 selected polling units in each constituency.
At each polliing unit, the pollsters will randomly question 100 people after they have cast their votes.  The intention is to get 25,000 samples.  The exit poll results will be reported immediately after  polling closes at 3pm, he said.
A similar exit poll will also be conducted in other constituencies throughout the country.  The margin of error is set to be not over 3 per cent, Mr Noppadol said.
Mr Noppadol said the voters will be asked, in a covert manner, which candidate and which political party they have voted for.
He said Abac Poll has confirmation in writing from Pol Gen Wichean Potephosree, the national police chief, and the Eleltion Commission that  exit polls can be carried out and there is no law to prohibit it.
